4 Tips on How to Take Care of Your Honda Car’s Engine

Honda mechanic in San Antonio, TX

An engine is deemed to be the heart of your Honda vehicle, which is precisely why you should take good care of it. Many vehicle owners hop in their car and drive off without even considering periodic maintenance, repairs, or tune-ups, resulting in what could have been avoidable, but now extensive and expensive repairs. To prevent such situations and ensure optimal vehicle performance, here are a few tips from an expert Honda mechanic in San Antonio, TX to keep your car engine in good shape.

Look out For Oil Leaks

One of the most common issues that vehicle owners face is oil leakage. Before you get in the car, take a look at the parking spot and see if there is fluid on the ground. If you find that oil is leaking, don’t think twice; visit an auto repair shop for Honda service in San Antonio. Alternatively, you can also open the hood of your car and check underneath for leaks. Anti-freeze and engine oil are the two fluids that often leak from a vehicle.

Change the Engine Oil Periodically

As part of routine maintenance, you should change the engine oil from time to time. For the car engine to perform better, it is necessary to lubricate all the moving parts, thus minimizing the chances of regular wear and tear. Remember to check the oil level at regular intervals and top it off if necessary. The manufacturer’s instructions tell you how often you should change the engine oil. The oil filter should be maintained since it helps remove any contaminants from the oil and allows the engine to work more efficiently.

Check the Engine Light

If the engine light comes on while driving, it indicates that the engine is malfunctioning and needs to be repaired. In this case, don’t delay any further. Have your car inspected by an expert Honda mechanic in San Antonio, TX. There are different reasons this could happen, but only an auto repair professional can properly diagnose the problem. Even though it might not be serious every time, it is still essential to protect your engine.

Keep Tabs on the Cooling System

While driving your vehicle, energy is lost in the form of heat. Therefore, it is super important that your car has an adequate amount of coolant in the tank. The cooling system removes excess heat from the engine and maintains the right temperature to function correctly. Top off your coolant to prevent your car engine from overheating. Otherwise, it could lead to expensive repairs or replacement.

These are some essential tips to maintain your car engine. For any further help, get in touch with an Acura repair shop in San Antonio today.

Australia’s only electric car-sharing company sees rise in demand despite lack of government support for electric cars

Tesla

Amid growing criticism of the government’s lagging electric vehicle (EV) policies and lack of infrastructure, specifically the Victorian government’s plan to tax electric car drivers, evee continues to offer Australians easy and affordable access to rent and experience EVs from local owners without the price tag.

“The demand for electric cars is unprecedented and despite the lack of government policy, Australians are ready to drive, experience, and buy EVs – we’re hearing this directly from our customers,” says Slava Kozlovskii, evee Founder.

“After an unpredictable start to 2020, we’re proud to make a strong comeback in 2021 with evee’s growth now exceeding our pre-covid levels. We have worked hard to expand our offering to connect EV owners with eco-conscious drivers nationwide, making EV driving options readily available and accessible to everyone,” Slava continued.

Australia’s only car-sharing platform offering solely EVs is welcoming rising demand with expansion into every major city including Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Cairns, and Alice Springs.

In 2020, evee recorded incredible car rental growth which tripled year-on-year, whilst their vehicle fleet range expanded from 19 to over 60 cars available to hire.

Founded in 2015, evee offers Australian drivers access to the industry-leading Tesla range from private car owners. In addition, evee now offers the Audi e-tron, Hyundai Ioniq, and BMW i3, whilst Perth users can now experience the new Mini Electric and many more EVs to choose from.

With the average evee car rental traveling 160km/day, each evee hire saves 12.8kg of CO2 based on 80g C02 saved per kilometer compared to a petrol-powered vehicle.

To ensure a seamless service and easy transfer, evee is available to pick up either from the owner’s home, or airport pickups can be organised for an added fee.

For more information on listing your electric vehicle or hiring one, visit evee now at www.evee.com.au and follow their journey on @eveecars

As always, EVSE Australia has all the information on charging electric vehicles – rentals or not!

Destination Charging Across Victoria Program

(DCAV) Destination Charging Across Victoria  Program provides $5 million in grants to establish a public Electric Vehicle fast-charging network across Victoria. EVSE is ready to support applications for this grant

Victoria is a leader in Zero Emissions Vehicles (ZEVs) to ensure a timely transition to net-zero emissions by 2050 and earlier.

One of Victoria’s largest and ever expanding sources of greenhouse gas emissions is the transport sector – in fact, it accounts for 25% of Victoria’s total carbon emissions. ZEVs – using clean, renewable energy – can provide opportunities to achieve significant reductions in these emissions, while also reducing the amount of air pollution, making our cities and towns more liveable.

(DCAV)  Destination Charging Across Victoria Program provides $5 million in grants to establish a fast-charging network across Victoria. 80% of this fund will be spent on fast-chargers in regional Victoria.

The DCAV program will help businesses, councils and community organisations install public EV fast-charging stations.

The aim of the DCAV program is to establish an EV fast-charging network at key destinations across the state. By creating an EV fast-charging network with power ratings between 11 kW – 100 kW at key tourist destinations and high-use locations, it allows EVs to be charged while EV drivers go about their business. These chargers will provide EVs with 100 km worth of battery power in 10 to 100 minutes.

Destination fast-chargers give EV owners the confidence that they can top up on charge when they need to, reducing ‘range anxiety’. EV owners can find the locations of chargers online (such as plugshare.com) and can plan their trip accordingly. By upgrading this critical infrastructure, Victoria is laying the groundwork for the increased take-up of zero emissions vehicles, helping us to reach our target of 50% of all new light vehicle sales to be ZEV by 2030.

Objectives
The DCAV program aims to establish an electrical vehicle (EV) fast-charging network at key tourist destinations and regional towns across Victoria that will:

EV fast-charging technology readily available at destination locations, including recreational community destinations and high-use locations.
ensure even coverage of fast-charging infrastructure that is readily available for Victorians across the state, reducing ‘range anxiety’;
create project supply chain and local jobs, i.e. skills, capabilities and services across each service area;
consider broader economic and social benefits for Victorian communities; and
reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Funding
Applicants that are ready to commence in December 2021 will be looked upon favourably during this assessment process.

$5 million in grants is available to deliver the DCAV program which includes:

up to $4 million to support the installation of EV fast-chargers (11 kW – 100 kW fast-chargers) in regional priority towns and locations; and
up to $1 million for the installation of EV fast-chargers (11 kW – 100 kW fast-chargers) at metropolitan destinations.

How to apply
Due to the state-wide lockdown, the application close date has been extended from 5pm Friday 30 July 2021 to 5pm Friday 13 August 2021 and must be submitted through Grants Online using the links below.
